Grading

You will get the full score of this homework if you complete all the following by the deadline:

• Submit a valid masterpiece.drw to the gradebot.
• Upload the EPS of your masterpiece as your avatar.
• Participate in the exhibition described below.

Otherwise, you will get zero point.

Exhibition

We will compute the EPS from your masterpiece.drw, print and exhibit your picture and code, and reward the best masterpieces with extra credits and prizes.

To ensure that we can render your picture and code, verify that

• No line in your masterpiece.drw has more than 130 characters.
• You have entered your correct Chinese first and last names in your gradebot profile. We will extract your name and embed it in your picture automatically.

For best viewing result, I recommend (but not require) that you:

• Center your picture.
• Scale your picture up as much as possible. FYI, the canvas size is 1239(W) by 1752(H).

Evaluation Criteria

We will evaluate your masterpieces based on both their artistic appeal and their code elegance. We will ask a panel of experts in computer graphics to select the best masterpieces. While the criteria are inevitably subjective, the following qualities are desirable:

• Diversity: Use many picture elements and transformations so that the picture doesn't look tedious.
• Compactness: Combines picture elements compactly without much redundancy.
• Repetition and symmetry: Repeitition and symmetry in pictures exude beauty. However, avoid repetition in code. Use the for command to produce repeated picture elements succinctly.
• Story-telling: A good artist work is always expressive in its visual appearance, in the way in which it is delivered to the audience, and in its underlying motivation of design.
