Car Project LiDAR

A project of the Robotics 2019 class of the School of Information Science and Technology (SIST) of ShanghaiTech University. Course Instructor: Prof. Sören Schwertfeger.

The car project is to build a mobile mapping platform mountable to a car and, with that platform, map the campus of ShanghaiTech University. Currently four Velodyne Pucks, one HDL-32E and three LadyBug are mounted on the platform.

We finished three test runs in the campus, one on the ground and two undergound, in which we have collected over 100GB laser scanner data. The data have been upload onto the data station and are waiting for future research.
